WWI PRESENTATIONS: Starting on Block Day, 1/22. Research a topic to deepen your knowledge of WWI, design a slide show or poster to present on Friday.
  1. Group project BUT put your name on whatever part of the slide show you complete.
  2. Find a topic of interest on the YouTube site “The Great War”. This video is one source you can use for your writing assignment, but it’s just the start of your research. Spend a part of Day 1 exploring and getting inspired by a topic that you want to know more about.
  3. Here are your choices of categories:
    • WWI Essential Knowledge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t_Gwo3M-uc&list=PLB2vhKMBjSxMnPf1W6yFMInKoPDitA7gC
    • Countries in WWI  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB2vhKMBjSxOQ6UuHLRiGgb3fulmJ5ksy
    • Technology and Warfare in WWI (if you want to geek out on weaponry) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4AHhTA8RIo&list=PLB2vhKMBjSxMU2-UiexaQ_pwpxxgQUdat
    • Artists and Culture (not as much here, but it might be interesting) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akDfjifD2DU&list=PLB2vhKMBjSxPxlYnZ1ke-gVBXeDW8tIne

  • The Mad Baron https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNUq7IUU300
  • Zeppelins! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlQgprSGpNI
  • Adrian Carton de Wiart (The Unkillable Soldier) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRMHB_tdz88&list=PLAnwfqs0VrqrgFrGDRfTzCCQp8PzfoeAL&index=26 (minute 7:50)
  • Get your topic approved by the teacher.
  • Design your visual (Google Slides or a poster). 3X5 rule.
  • Each student should have one slide.
  • Put citations in the notes part of the slides.
  • Keep your presentations brief. You don't have to narrate every fact--just focus on the most important/interesting 1-2 facts and be ready to answer questions about the rest.
